CHUB Hosts Renowned Hungarian Neurosurgeon to Strengthen Clinical and Academic Collaboration

#CHUB- Today, Dr. Istvan Hudak, a world-renowned endovascular neurosurgeon from Hungary, was officially received by the Acting Director General, Dr. Ngarambe Christian, in a visit aimed at exploring collaboration in specialized clinical care and medical education.
During his visit, Dr. Hudak toured CHUB’s key clinical facilities, including surgical and interventional units, to assess infrastructure, technologies, and potential areas for knowledge exchange. He emphasized the importance of hands-on experience for residents and trainees in advanced neurosurgical techniques.
Dr. Hudak also delivered a public lecture at the University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, engaging medical students on the latest innovations in endovascular neurosurgery and minimally invasive procedures. Students and residents had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into global best practices.
In addition, the neurosurgeon met with the Mayor of Huye District to discuss potential joint initiatives to support healthcare delivery and medical training in the region. Topics included strengthening capacity building for neurosurgical care, and collaborative research opportunities.

Acting DG Dr. Ngarambe Christian highlighted the visit as a milestone for CHUB: “This collaboration allows us to enhance our clinical expertise, provide advanced training for our residents, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Partnerships like this are critical for advancing specialized medicine in Rwanda.”

The visit concludes a two-day program focused on fostering long-term partnerships, mentorship, and research collaboration, positioning CHUB as a hub for advanced neurosurgical care in the region.
