^{Acting Director General}

Dr. Ngarambe Christian holds Medical Degree (MD) and specialty in General Surgery from the National University of Rwanda.
He is a Consultant General Surgeon at University Teaching Hospital of Butare since 2015 up to now.

He occupied different leadership positions in CHUB as Head of Surgery department and Director of Medical services before being appointed Ag. Director General.
Dr. Ngarambe Christian has been working for the health sector for the past 12 years with extensive experience in General Surgery and trauma Orthopedic patients management.

He is a Senior Lecture in University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
He has conducted and involved in various clinical researches published in scientific journals.
Dr. Ngarambe Christian is actually appointed Ag. Director General of the University Teaching
Hospital of Butare (CHUB), the First University Teaching Hospital in Rwanda Located in Huye
District, Southern Province, since 29 th November 2022.

UNITS/SERVICES

1. ADVISOR TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

He/She is the advisor to the Director General in the differents activities/ programs.

2. Quality Assurance Directorate

The unit of quality assurance and accreditation is responsible for assessing and addressing needs for Quality Improvement; Means use of Plan, Do, Study and Act cycle in services delivery to patients, visitors and patient’s family, training for all employees who work in contract and grant. Full time Quality Improvement staff are responsible for overseeing the implementation and evaluation of the Quality Assurance Plan under the Authority of Director General of the Hospital, in conjunction with the Quality Improvement Committee which provides ongoing operational leadership of continuous quality improvement activities at CHUB.

2. Legal affairs Specialist

Do follow up of all legal cases, legal advisory services to the different contracts of/and within CHUB

3. Public Relations and Customer care Directorate

Promote and maintain hospital image, reputation and mutual understanding between CHUB and its publics. This Direction has to ensure that all activities related to Public Relations and Customer Care are successfully achieved.

4. Internal Audit Directorate

Internal audit service supports CHU board of Directors by conducting the internal audit and all related activities.

5. Administrative assistant

Maintain the proper arrangements of Director General's office
