DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL IMAGING
In a large percentage of patients, imaging forms a pivotal role in both diagnosis and treatment. Central to this is the timely communication of radiological findings that are critical (life threatening), urgent (require action within 24 hours) or unexpected. It is essential that radiologists be provided with all of the relevant clinical information to prioritize and interpret radiological investigations.

This coupled with reliable and timely communication of results forms the very core of an effective imaging service. Referring Clinicians must be aware of their responsibilities in both acting upon radiological results in a timely fashion and documenting the action taken in the patient record.
